E-mail: lancastrian@btinternet.com 		I an a descendant of John Davies of the 'Old Courthouse Inn', Montgomery, Wales.
John Davies was ALSO the 'Post Agent' which I assume means he acted as a central point for mail prior to post offices being widespread. [We seem to be going back to that now!!]

A younger son of the above came to Liverpool and also entered the service of the Post office.[Shades of Flora Thompson's Larkrise perhaps.]
His Daughter was my Maternal Grandmother.

Anyone with Photos of Old Montgomery will be a welcome correspondent.

 Montgomery, Wales is a fabulous place. I studied in the UK for a year and I took a daytrip to Montgomery before I returned to my homeland. Words cannot describe how much I enjoyed the hours I spent in the town. The people in Montgomery could not have been nicer to me. All the way from the adults to the kids, they welcomed me to their hometown. I'll never forget the kids I met there, they were interested in that I was from the United States and they peppered me with questions about the area where I'm from, Chicago, Illinois. They were astounded I picked Montgomery, off all the places in Wales, to do some sightseeing. The adults gave me the Welsh hospitality they are known for, all of them so friendly and told me to come back. Any time I'm back in the UK Montgomery will be a travel stop.
