On 3rd May 2014, members of the town's community led by the Montgomery Cub pack convened at the Memorial Garden construction site to plant a yew hedge around the garden's perimeter.

 

Requiring surprisingly very little assistance the small plants were dug in and set in neat rows before being finally watered, leaving a most professional result. Subsequently once building works were completed the Montgomery Brownies planted up the circular bed on 9th June, working assiduously to ensure each plant was perfectly placed according to the plan drawing.

 

Again a most professional result as evinced by the photograph of one delighted Mayor!
